Dental implants can go a long way in correcting dental neglect
One of the lessons that I have learned in life is that there is nothing more important than dental care. Unfortunately, this is one of those lessons that I am sad to say I had to learn the hard way. While I have never delayed a trip to the doctor when I am not feeling like my best self, whenever it came to dental issues, I somehow would always convince myself that it wasn’t a big deal. I would put it off for as long as I could in the hopes that whatever was bothering me would go away after a while. Regretfully, this is how I dealt with the chronic soreness that I started to experience in my back molars. At first I thought maybe I just wasn’t brushing my teeth well enough. Maybe some piece of food had gotten stuck back there and was now irritating my gums. You know that annoying feeling of getting a popcorn kernel stuck in your teeth. I thought that maybe it was something like that. I started to floss more and brush my teeth more frequently. I even bought a courser toothbrush to ensure that I was getting the best scrubbing power on my back teeth. All these efforts earned me was bloody gums, and the constant throbbing was getting more difficult to ignore. Finally, I broke down and made an appointment with my dentist. To my shock, it turned out that I had wisdom teeth growing in under my back molars. The pressure from the wisdom teeth trying to rise up under my molars had pushed my molars out of alignment with the rest of my teeth. Those molars in turn were putting pressure on my other teeth. After further examination, it was determined that I would have to undergo wisdom teeth removal preferably at Peak OMS and Dental Implant Center, and most likely have to have my back-most molars removed as well due to the damage they had suffered from the wisdom teeth. At first, I was devastated that i would have to lose some of my teeth. I kicked myself for not acting sooner, and getting dental help when my teeth first started to bother me. Fortunately for me, I was presented with the option of dental implants. The oral surgeon that I was sent to promised me that I would not even be able to tell the difference between my original teeth and the implants. They would not only look the same, but they would have the same durability and functionality of real teeth. I am happy to say that the implants I received more than lived up to these promises. I genuinely can not tell that they are any different from my natural teeth. If you have neglected your teeth, and any signs that they may be giving you that need a little extra attention, please see a dentist right away. I wish I had done this, but I am so glad that dental implants were able to correct the damage that had occurred when I was putting off a trip to the dentist.
