Of all the meme blogs we’ve seen on the Internet, this one takes the cake, or is that sandwich? Have you ever wondered where you can find pictures of Tom Selleck, enjoying a cool dip in a waterfall, graced by a hovering sandwich? Over at the Selleck Waterfall Sandwich tumblog you can!

Who is the deranged (genius) person behind all of this? We’re upset there is no contact information to allow us to send in our own Selleck Waterfall Sandwich photos. If you have more information about how this blog came to be, or know the author, please let us know in the comments! Maybe you want to make your own Selleck Waterfall Sandwich photo and post a link to it? We’d be cool with that too.

Just before Thanksgiving PYT’s Tommy Up announced plans to introduce a new specialty burger each week. The menu kicked off with a Thanksgiving burger made from ground turkey topped with stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. Following that, Up collaborated with neighboring restaurant El Camino Real to create a pastrami special burger topped with Texas smoked brisket and smeared with Thousand Island dressing. Yesterday, the Tijuana burger dropped with housemade guacamole, chipotle mayo and tortilla strips.

It’s been an interesting season so far for football fans, with upsets, surprises and plenty of drama to boot. But one thing keeps us prepared for both a win or a loss, and that’s amazing game day sandwiches. One man, Mark Krajnak of JerseyStyle Photography has managed to pull together his love of food, football, and photography to create an amazing series of dishes for the past three seasons.

Focusing on the Philadelphia Eagles, Mark creates dishes that are reflective of the team they are playing that week. A “red, white, and blue burger” topped with salsa and stuffed with blue cheese to represents a game against the Washington Redskins, and a plate of pulled pork sliders to tackle the Carolina Panthers.

Mark’s photos and recipes are shared every week on one of our favorite Philly sports blogs, The 700 Level. Head over there for some great sandwich ideas for the rest of the season!

Remember getting berated for playing with your food when you were little? Finicky eaters turned creatives can find a new home at Insanewiches, the site that boasts “loony” sandwiches as an art form.

Some of the creations stay true to the standard sandwich form factor, like the Loaded-Tater Sandwich which utilizes two hash browns instead of bread. Others, however are downright strange, like the Rubix Cubewich and Flip-Phone Cellwich. Can’t say we’d be running to eat that cubed ham, but we definitely respect the imagination behind these creations. Still, the Nike Dunk inspired hamburger is tops in our book.

Are you a sandwich artist? Submit it to Insanewiches and tell us all about it in the comments!

What is it about the simple combination of bread and gooey melted cheese that makes it so satisfying? Every year since 2003, people from all over the world gather in Los Angeles at The Grilled Cheese Invitational, to cook, share, and eat the most creative grilled cheese sandwiches they can muster. The event has become so popular, that regional invitationals have popped up in San Francisco and Austin, Texas.

Taking a cue from The Grilled Cheese Invitational’s tagline, Bread, Butter, Cheese, Victory is a documentary in development by filmmaker Stephen “Paynie” Payne. Although specific details haven’t been released yet, it seems the film will tell the story of grilled cheese, and the people who come out to the event to share their love of it. Also featured are interviews with notables such as Buzz Aldrin, and Eric Idle of Monty Python fame.

Although we hope to sometime have the chance to make it out to The Grilled Cheese Invitational in California, this documentary will help to tide us over until then. We’ll keep you posted on further details and a release date as soon as they are made available.

Low prices and creative dishes have contributed to the meteoric popularity of these mobile food trucks, and vendors have seen great customer response by using Twitter to share their location and daily specials.

In the Philadelphia coverage, noted Southern food expert John T. Edge explores the streets of University City, hitting trucks that are notoriously popular to students at Drexel and Penn. Partaking in mostly breakfast sandwiches, Edge enjoys the falafel and egg from A&M Halal, and eggs and broccoli rabe at Mikey D’s Grill. There’s nary a mention of salt, pepper, ketchup but a lot of love for sriracha.

It looks like the popularity of street food has finally hit the mainstream media. Of course, Gourmet couldn’t hit all the best trucks in Philadelphia. Let us know your favorites in the comments!

It’s all burgers, all the time over at A Hamburger Today where fans of the blog religiously send in photographs from all over the world. To better educate their readers on the plethora of burger styles showcased on the blog, founder and editor-at-large Adam Kuban has compiled a reference sheet of epic proportions. The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles runs through your every day burgers like the pub style, and fast food burger all the way up to extreme burgers (served on a donut), and megaburgers (185 lb Guinness World Records holder!).

Kuban also makes a point to highlight regional burger styles such as the steamed cheeseburgers in Connecticut and the cheesed stuffed burgers of Minneapolis (including a shout out to Good Dog in Philadelphia). We know you love burgers as much as we do, so we suggest you head over to AHT and get yourself educated. Then the next time you’re out for burgers, you’ll have a foolproof way to impress your date with all of this new found knowledge.

With the last weeks of summer approaching, we’re trying every way possible to hold back these sun filled, lazy days of relaxation. What better way to live it up, then by treating yourself to some delicious, and rich lobster rolls? The cool combination of succulent Maine lobster, celery, and lemon juice is a great way to reminisce about the road trips, beach vacations, and other fun summer activities, before it’s time to return to school and work. This recipe from the great recipe blog Smitten Kitchen is simple, and flavorful, substituting the traditional hot dog style bun for a brioche roll.
