Is Philadelphia ready for another burger joint? Steve Poses thinks so. Considered by many to be the forefather of the modern restaurant scene in Philadelphia, Poses’ restaurants Frög and The Commissary were revolutionary when they opened, and eventually evolved into Frög Commissary Catering, which has handled 15,000 events and counting.

We just received this awesome news from Poses’ people:

Frög Commissary is rolling its latest project right out onto the front lawn. Frög Burger, a no-frills hamburger and ‘shake stand, will open this June outside the Franklin Institute on the Parkway, the home of its catering division for decades. They aim to be known as much for what they aren’t (chic and overpriced) as much as what they are (burgers “so juicy you might want a bib”).

The Franklin Institute has long been a family place – the Parkway, too – and what Steve Poses and his team, which includes his son, are working on is informal and homegrown, a simple burger “shack” with grills and picnic tables and kids playing. It will all be on the grass beneath the gleaming Budd BB-1 Pioneer, the stainless steel airplane on display since the mid-1930s.

The logo, like the menu and details of the burgers themselves, is still a work in progress, but Unbreaded has an exclusive first look – four of them, in fact. Following are the concepts currently under consideration, designed by a democratic combination of chefs and graphic designers and they want your feedback!

Hit the jump to find out how you can help choose Frög Burger’s logo and a chance to win free lunch!

Below you’ll find the four logos under consideration. Leave a comment telling us which you like best (1, 2, 3 or 4) and we’ll pick two winners at random to receive a $20 gift card each when Frög Burger opens in June! Voting ends at 11:59pm on Monday, May 17th.

Be sure to sign up on their e-mail list to be notified when the official menu and opening date are revealed!

I like number 3 the best ….1 and 2 don't look as professional as 3 and 4 do

4 has too much green (grass and logo color)

  • http://twitter.com/waxingccrescent qmm

    #3 is adorable…

  • Aly

    3 is a turd color. i like number 4!

  • http://www.facebook.com/dibaz Diba Ahmed

    love number 4!!

  • joe_k

Yeah I'm going with #3 as well. It just stands out for some reason.

  • tsog

    I like #1…. brighter,cleaner lines!

  • kje_yahoo

    It's a close call for me between # 3 and # 4….I like both. I think I'll give the edge to # 4.

  • Rizzle

Its tough but I think #1 is flashy enough while not having shades of vomit being its primary color scheme. I think both 3 and 4 have the best design though, maybe a few color tweaks would work it out.

    The correct answer is 1

  • mbeuf

Number 1. Number's 3 and 4 – the frog looks like it should have something to do with donuts or bagels and there's too much grass – should be flames below the burger. Grass looks more appropriate beside the frog.

  • Chris Wawak

    4, definitely.

  • Nancy

I like #3.. I like the colors the best.. This was a great idea.. I love the creativity.

  • DOK

#1 – definitely the cleanest and sleakest design. looking forward to hanging outside and chomping on a frog burger!

  • Elizabeth

    #3!

  • http://juliahays.com Julia Hays

    #3.

  • http://philastories.org Mike

I like #4 best. I like the grass.

  • RF

Going with #3 too because the frog stands out. Love the brown and olive together.

  • Lisa A. May

    #4 for sure!

  • http://twitter.com/PhillyGG Philly GossipGirl

I like #3 best, but only because 4's color is kind of blah and the first two are too plain. 3 feels like my vision is blurry, though.

  • morgan

    me likey #4

  • http://www.PhillyChitChat.com PhillyChitChat

Being shy, simple and understated I love #2, but if I had to make another choice #4 is nice. I like green.

I like 4 the best, but agree it may be a little too green. What about the 3 color scheme with the 4 font (ie the easier to read typeface).

  • phyllishalpern

Excellent news. Since you asked … here's my opinion … convince me that the world remembers the Frog or the Commissary — it was a wonderful/innovative/cool place but it's been gone for a long time. People of “a certain age” will remember it but younger people probably won't. And I don't think there was a burger on either menu. Or wiill people think the burger will be made from frog meat? But this is a logo contest not a name contest so I vote for #3 (maybe make the o in frog a hamburger roll). Now let's talk about the carrot cake.

  • Beth D'Addono

Number 3 for sure! Can't wait to check out Steve's latest dish!!

  • Nathan

    I'm for #4, with #3 as a close second.

  • Sara

    I like 3 the best

  • erik

    number 1

  • http://www.stephaniecorfee.com stephanie corfee

#4, though i think that solid/silhouetted grass blades would be more graphic and in-tune with the very basic, simple shapes of the text. Not sure that exact green is the one…but really prefer the one-color approach, over the 2-color ones.

please engage an experienced graphic designer that specializes in corporate identity for the logo and let the chefs stick with making the burgers. there are major issues with all of them!

  • Sara

I vote for #4. but the colors could use some work.

  • http://www.afoodcoma.com Allie Harcharek

    #4 go go go

  • Noah

    #1 is the best!

  • Insider

As an insider, all were done professionally, except for #2 I believe.

  • http://twitter.com/toofeets Jessica

    three

  • http://www.elleats.com Elaine H.

I vote for the first one. It's much cleaner looking.

  • southphillyfashionista

    # is clean & simple. J'adore.

  • Ernest_B

    I like number 3

  • http://johnmchugh.net john

to insider: technically there are a lot of problems with the logos as far as them reproducing at different sizes and in different media. professional is a very loosely used term in the design industry. my advice is to engage a competent corporate identity designer with a solid portfolio of real brands. it will save you money in headaches in the long run.

  • Jay

#4. Love the single “frog-colored” scheme. The font is big and bold hopefully just like the burger you can buy at the stand “all above the grass.” #4 says it all.

  • http://twitter.com/brimil Britt Miller

    four.

  • Anay

    #3 definitely.

  • http://www.chefcorbin.com corbin evans

I am voting on #2 as the new logo! I can't wait

  • http://twitter.com/mikeyil Mikey

    four

  • Stacey

#3 has the best color scheme

  • suzanne

I think number 1 is clear, and with a clean fresh look to it

  • jasonguiliano

number three, the best hands down. it;s # 1 & #2 put together

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Daniel-Delaney/56600006 Daniel Delaney

They're all really bad. Maybe try again? A logo should be scalable, and not reliant on color.

  • Mike

    #3 all the way
