Seems like we stirred the pot pretty good with a little debate here on the site over the past few days.  Our post elicited a fabulous comment which kicked off a firestorm of people jumping in.  It’s even spilled over to other blogs and reddit.

Is a burrito a sandwich?  Most people say No Way.  But maybe, in a way, it is.  Read the ongoing debate and join in.

Just found a great article from NPR. The author weighs in on the definition of a sandwich: “My definition is somewhat broader: A sandwich is a filling enclosed in bread or pastry that can be eaten by hand.” http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?st…

Well, even simpler, open faced sandwiches popular in scandinavia is simply bread with stuff on top. Surely anything wrapped in bread must be an even better definition of a sandwich then just bread with toppings… I guess if open faced sandwiches are sandwiches, so are burritos, albeit a subset in the sandwich family tree.
